Self-referral For Local Services
Most referrals to other specialists will require you seeing or speaking with a GP, however there are a number of services locally, listed below that you are able to make self-referrals to.

Thinking Ahead help everyday issues that affect your mental wellbeing and provide professional support for more common mental health difficulties, such as anxiety and depression.

Turning Point
Every 30 minutes someone leaves Turning Point's services drink or drugs free. Turning Point offer you or a loved one a range of services depending on what you need, from detox and residential rehab to supported living and aftercare support.

PHYSIO
Physio Direct
To self-refer you must be 16 years of age or over and have a musculoskeletal problem such as back pain, neck pain, a painful joint, and/or general soft tissues sprains and strains. This includes sports injuries, work related injuries and postural problems. Please note self-referral is for pain or symptoms affecting one area of your body only.

NUPAS - National Unplanned Pregnancy Advisory Service
This service offers free abortion treatments and free pregnancy testing, sexually transmitted infection screening and a fully comprehensive contraceptive service.

PODIATRY
Podiatry
You can get a comprehensive foot health service that includes the diagnosis, management and treatment of lower limb and foot dysfunction and their associated pathologies. Patients meeting the access criteria will be routed to the appropriate podiatry team member for assessment.

NHS e-Referral Tracking
If your doctor has referred you to a specialist for further care you will be asked to book your appointment using the ‘NHS e-Referral’ system.
You will receive a letter from us within 2 weeks giving details of how to book your appointment and any passwords you may need.
To track your e-Referral you will need the following details to log into the e-Referral website:
- Your date of birth
- Reference number – this will be on the first page of your letter
- Password – this will be on the second page of your letter
