If you take regular medications we will always print an up-to date list of your medicines on the right hand side of your prescription. It is a good idea to keep this with you at all times in case you see a Doctor at hospital or whilst away on holiday.
If you are unsure as to why you are taking any medicines or think there are medicines on your repeat slip you don’t use or need then please arrange a telephone consultation with any Doctor to discuss further.
How to Request a Repeat Prescription
Please tick the item(s) required on your computer tear off slip and bring it into surgery. Your prescription will be ready 2 working days after requesting it.
If you are unable to bring your tear off slip in, you may send your request by post with a Stamped Address Envelope and we will post back to you. Alternatively you can fax your request to us on 01706 343 990.
On the 1st Dec 2017 we stopped accepting prescription requests via the telephone. This is becoming custom practice in our region and done for safety reasons.
New online Prescription Requesting Service
We are excited to announce that linked into the new Online Appointment Booking system is the ability to check your repeat prescriptions and request them online. All you need to do is register online for this facility after letting us know you would like to use this service.
Please ask at reception for more details.
Electronic Prescription Service (EPS)
In addition, you can sign up with your regular pharmacy for our electronic prescription service which allows the pharmacy to request your medication direct with us and for us to send the prescription to them electronically. This removes the need for you to collect the prescription from the practice. Please be aware that there may be certain medications that that practice are unable to send electronically to the pharmacy such as controlled painkillers.
Patients on repeat medication will be asked to see a doctor, nurse practitioner or practice nurse at least once a year to review these regular medications and notification should appear on your repeat slip.
Please ensure that you book an appropriate appointment to avoid unnecessary delays to further prescriptions.
